About the Adventure

Overview

Adventures in Camp has been in Columbia, Maryland since 2004. Each year we strive to make the next summer better than the last!

Adventures in Camp is a summer day camp that has daily and weekly activities that everyone enjoys! Once a week there is a field trip (either we go to the location, or the location comes to us). Friday is our talent show, pizza and swimming day. The other days we have fun playing sports and games outside, making arts and crafts, and playing games inside!

Ages 4 to 12 are invited to come to our camp. Just make sure you are ready for a day FULL of FUN!! Don't forget to wear your sneakers, lunch, bathing suit and towel everyday for all the activities!

Campers will by grouped by ages, and we will try our best to separate sibilings so all campers enjoy their stay at Adventures in Camp. (Unless siblings wish to be together, in that case.. they will be together.)Grouping campers by their ages and interests will make sure all children will be able to do different activities to suit their active lives and abilities.

There will be at least one CPR, First Aid and Asthma trained and certified counselors per maximum of eight children (up to 10 in the 10-12 year old group). If there are more campers in their group, an additional adult will be with the group. This way the campers will be highly supervised and receive all the attention they deserve!

Every day of every week there will be a schedule posted. This schedule will show the campers and parents what the daily agenda will be for that day. Every week we will go on a field trip, or have a field trip come to us, and Fridays we go swimming!

Five years ago we started $5 Fridays. This is when each camper brings in $5 on Fridays instead of packing their lunch. (Moms and Dads love this--no lunch to pack!!) With that money we order pizza, play at the pool and have ice cream! The campers (and counselors) absolutely LOVE Fridays!

Activities

Adventures in Camp has many fun activities planned every summer. The activities are meant to engage children both physically and mentally. These include musical freeze tag, musical chairs, dance-dance, sidewalk chalk, board games, card games, a talent show, dance contests, swinging, bubbles, and much more!
